Patrick J. Nugent

Executive Director

Patrick joined the Annapolis Symphony staff in September 2015. He brings fundraising and non-profit leadership experience from the fields of higher education, international development, arts and culture, and social services. He is a classically-trained pianist. He has a BA in Latin, Greek, and Theology from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH, and a M.Div. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is responsible for oversight of all administrative functions of the Symphony and reports jointly with the Music Director to the Board Chair. In particular, he has responsibility for external relations, fundraising, finance, strategic planning, marketing, human resources, and board relationships.

Marshall Mentz

Marshall Mentz

General Manager and Chief Operating Officer

Marshall has been with the Annapolis Symphony for two decades, with a brief hiatus or two. He is a classically-trained clarinetist with a bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in Arts Administration from Goucher College. His chief responsibility is to ensure that there is always an orchestra for the Music Director to conduct, a place to rehearse and perform, technical support for the performance, soloists to work with, and punctual payment for all. He oversees all day-to-day operations of the Symphony, including finance, marketing, and education programs.

Devan Costello-Mays

Devan Costello-Mays

Manager of Development and Business Services

Devan joined the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra in September 2017. A professional violist, she holds a bachelor and master’s degree in music performance from James Madison University and Bowling Green State University respectively, and a master’s degree in Arts Management from George Mason University. Devan oversees the Symphony’s day-to-day development and finance needs, manages special events, and supports the Symphony’s electronic communications.

Emily DeLisle

Emily DeLisle

Manager of Box Office and Marketing

Emily joined the Annapolis Symphony team in July 2018. She is a graduate of Salisbury University with a bachelor’s degree in theater performance. In office, she runs the box office and executes the Symphony’s marketing plans. Additionally, she choreographs for local theaters and schools.
