Symphony Study Series
For adults interested in an in-depth learning experience, the Annapolis Symphony offers the Symphony Study Series, led by Dr. Rachel Franklin. This three-session interactive class is designed for music lovers who want to delve deeper into the world of classical music. The course offers a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary study of a specific topic within the classical music realm. The goal is to educate and illuminate the music in a fun, interactive, informal educational setting that takes students “behind the scenes” of composers’ lives and much more.
Before every Masterworks concert, the Symphony offers a free pre-concert lecture designed to enhance and enrich the experience of attending a symphony concert. Led by Dr. Rachel Franklin, distinguished lecturer and pianist, the lecture provides musical and historical context and perspective to the evening’s repertoire. Dr. Franklin’s presentations have been praised by Symphony patrons as highly entertaining and enlightening. The pre-concert lecture begins at 6:45 PM and is open to all ticket holders for the evenings’ concert.
