2020-2021 Masterworks Series

Harmony in Nature

With “Harmony in Nature,” audiences will experience a season-long theme highlighting composers and works inspired by the timeless Mother Nature.

Maestro Novo says, “In this new season, I invite you to embrace and relive the transformational relationship of nature to humankind. We will discover breathtaking landscapes, idyllic corners, ominous storms, seasonal beauty, all through the incomparable world of highly evocative sounds as we showcase not only our exceptional orchestra but also a stellar line up of guest artists.”

This year’s featured artists will include violinist Chee-Yun, clarinetist Robert DiLutis, soprano Janice Chandler-Eteme, pianist Olga Kern, and pipa player Wu Man.

Concerts will be virtual until official guidelines allow us to proceed with limited seating performances. To allow for social distancing on stage, the Symphony has adjusted its program through December to involve only string, percussion, keyboard, and harp. Unless otherwise noted, performances will be at the Music Center at Strathmore, of which the symphony is an affiliate member, to utilize its larger stage and multi-camera capabilities.
