What is your favorite piece of music? Anything Pink Floyd did.

What do you enjoy in your spare time? Golf, cooking, and working out.

What is your fondest Annapolis Symphony memory? The fact that we perform at Strathmore now. Most performances have been very memorable.

 

David Sciannella has been second trombonist of the ASO since 1988. Born in Lanham, Maryland, he holds a BM from the Catholic University (Washington, DC), and a MM from the Eastman School of Music. He leads an active freelance career in the Washington – Baltimore – Northern Virginia area. He is Principal Trombone of the National Philharmonic, Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, and the National Gallery Orchestra. He is former trombonist and euphonium soloist with the Washington Symphonic Brass and can be heard on several of their CDs. David has often subbed with the Baltimore Symphony, National Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, and Delaware Symphony orchestras.

For 15 years he was Professor of Trombone at George Washington University and now teaches at his own private low brass studio. He also owns and operates a brass instrument repair shop. He lives in Silver Spring with his two daughters. In his free time he enjoys golf and his vegetable garden.
