Anthony Valerio

A native Annapolitan, Tony joined the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra as Fourth Horn in 1998. A graduate of West Virginia University (BM) and the Peabody Conservatory (MM), he is an active free-lance musician, working with various ensembles in the region, including The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Symphony, Chesapeake Orchestra and numerous others.

 

Tony has served with the U.S. Naval Academy Band since 1989, performing with the Wind Ensemble, brass and woodwind quintets, chamber ensembles, and as Ceremonial Unit Leader conducting musical honors and ceremonial engagements for all levels of military and government dignitaries and organizations. He is also a founding member of the Bayfield Brass, a local chamber ensemble with more than twenty years of performance activity in the region.

 

Tony has been on the faculty of the Peabody Preparatory, Anne Arundel Community College and Salisbury University and is currently adjunct professor of horn at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. In his spare time he enjoys fitness and sailing and spending time with his wife Kim, his son Christopher, and other family in the Annapolis area.
