2024 Family Concert

Fly far into the cosmos with visuals and scientists from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and  Conductor José-Luis Novo in a space-themed adventure at Maryland Hall on January 20, 2024. Families will experience first-hand the glory of the universe with multi-media presentations of video and music. The program includes:

The Moldau by Bedřich Smetana – with NASA Goddard video footage showcasing stunning images of Earth’s waterways derived from NASA and USGS’s Landsat Satellite Program.

The Planets (excerpts) by Gustav Holst –Neptune, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury – with NASA Goddard video footage of the planets in our solar system.

Music from Apollo 13 by James Horner – with NASA Goddard video footage using astrophysics images, visualizations and animations that show objects beyond our solar system.

Adventures on Earth from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial by John Williams
