Pre Concert Lecture

Jonathan Palevsky is Program Director at WBJC Classical Radio. We’re excited to tap into his experience and expertise as host of our Season 63 pre-concert lectures before each Masterworks performance at Maryland Hall. Jonathon dives deep into each piece in the concert repertoire, discussing history, culture, art, science, music trends, arcane facts and interesting anecdotes you won’t learn anywhere else.

Join us before each concert at Maryland Hall at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. Reservations are not required. Seating is open. Our pre-concert lectures are free for ticket holders.

Coming up! Learn more about Masterworks IV – Serenade. What inspired the composers? What life circumstances or social movements motivated their technique? What historical events shaped the composition and publishing of their music? Understanding the music will help ticket holders enjoy and appreciate the music even more! If you haven’t purchased a Masterworks subscription or tickets to the concert, now is the time! Click here.
