October 5, 2022 – The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, with support from the Anne Arundel County Arts Council and the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks, will play a free community concert at Downs Park in Pasadena this coming Sunday, October 9th, at 5 PM. The concert features a Brass Quintet.

ASO Artistic Director and Conductor José-Luis Novo is very excited about the performance. “The program for the Brass Quintet includes beautiful pieces from Americana that everyone will feel a connection to,” he said. “Pack a picnic, listen to inspirational music, and enjoy a fall afternoon in one of our county’s most beautiful parks.”

The program includes light classics, marches, rags, pop and swing from important composers like Strauss, Farnaby, Copland, Albéniz, and Pollack. The program will conclude with a resounding edition of “America the Beautiful”, composed by S. Ward and arranged by J. Villanueva.

The concert will feature musicians from the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, including Dr. Christopher Buchanan, ASO Second Trumpet, Alex Kovling, ASO Principal French Horn, David Perkel, ASO Principal Trombone, Jake Fewx, ASO Principal Tuba, and Davy DeArmond, Trumpet.
