About the Scholarships

Scholarships have been established by generous benefactors to ensure that talented young musicians will be able to pursue their love of music through the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra’s Academy Program without regard to the financial cost of participation.

The first scholarship, The Howard & Thea Pinskey Academy Scholarship was founded in memory of two long-time Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and Academy supporters, Howard and Thea, in 2021. They both loved attending concerts at Maryland Hall and were strong supporters of the Academy. To remember their commitment to the arts and the indelible mark they left on Annapolis, their friends created an Academy Scholarship in their name.

The second scholarship, The Patricia Edwards Academy Scholarship was created through a bequest from the estate of the ASO’s first Executive Director Patricia Edwards who passed away in 2021. The Patricia Edwards Scholarship Fund is fully funded and will provide an annual $5000 Scholarship for a deserving young musician.
