FASO Trip to Santa Fe

FASO Trip to Santa Fe, May 15-21, 2024

Nestled 7000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Rockies, Santa Fe is one of America’s oldest cities, and boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. Founded as a capital city in 1607 by Spanish explorers, it has been claimed by the Pueblo Peoples, the Spanish Crown, Mexico and the Confederacy. Today it is a sophisticated city, famous for its diverse cultures, museums and galleries, outstanding cuisine, and the Santa Fe Opera. With few tourists and beautiful weather, May is a wonderful time to be there!

Evenings will be devoted to music and fine dining. The Santa Fe Symphony will perform Beethoven’s glorious monument to humanity, the 9th Symphony, and you’ll enjoy two private concerts, exclusive to the group, in wonderful, intimate venues. We are fortunate to have along the inimitable Jonathan Palevsky, popular host of WBJC radio, for commentary on the music you will hear.
During the day we will make excursions in and around Santa Fe to explore Native American and Spanish sites rich in history such as the stunning ruins of an ancient American Indian pueblo as well as a modern pueblo, a celebrated pilgrimage site, and artisan workshops.

We’ll celebrate famed American artist Georgia O’Keeffe with a private visit to her home in Abiquiu and view the dramatic landscapes she painted. We will also visit Santa Fe’s Railyard, one of the best contemporary art districts in the country. Meanwhile, you will enjoy deluxe accommodations at the historic La Fonda on the Plaza, a former Harvey Hotel (remember the movie with Judy Garland?)—at the end of the Santa Fe Trail, fine dining at area restaurants, and guided tours led by expert guides.

Registration is limited to only 25 participants, and we expect the trip to sell out early.

Reservation must be made by March 15, 2024.
