ASO Returns from Spain
The ASO launched its groundbreaking tour of four Spanish cities on July 8 with its concert in Madrid and continued over the next 11 days in Zaragoza, Valencia, and Granada. The concerts featured soloist Pepe Romero, the renowned Spanish classical and flamenco guitarist.
Learning for a Lifetime
Xylophones, glockenspiels, and metallophones, the instruments resonate to project a sound when they hit with mallets. They may sound simple, but they are part of the Orff Schulwerk method of musical instruction – a deeply studied way of teaching young children a love for music through play, imitation, experimentation and personal expression. They teach the whole student to love music as a whole by playing, singing and feeling the rhythm.
ASO to tour Spain in July 2022
How do you make a regional orchestra with a sound far beyond its size better known? You play more music for more people in more places. The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra will do just that this summer, traveling to Spain as part of its ambitious five-year plan to lift the regional symphony to wider acclaim.
