About Black Tie & Diamonds
For 24 years, the Rotary Club of Annapolis has brought our community together for a wonderful evening that directly benefits local nonprofit organizations. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been distributed for work that strengthens health, education, food and housing security, and other essential services.
This year’s Black Tie & Diamonds Gala will support Friends of Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (FASO), a 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in 1964 that supports the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and Annapolis Symphony Academy through a strong belief in the power of music to transform people and communities. Funds raised at the 2027 Black Tie & Diamonds Gala will go directly to support ASO programs created for children and families, as well as students of the Annapolis Symphony Academy.
FASO is thrilled to support Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and Academy through this charitable effort, and has pledged to use the funds for programs targeted specifically to area children. The Annapolis Symphony Academyprovides exceptional music education and performance opportunities to 170 students from preschool through high school. Many children in the Academy come from neighborhoods that lack resources, including access to formalized music education. Approximately 50% of Academy students receive need-based scholarship support, reflecting the ASO’s commitment to removing financial barriers to participating in classical music.
The evening will include cocktails, dinner, dancing, a raffle, and silent and live auctions. More than 240 guests are expected. The event traditionally sells out well in advance. It is a highly visible opportunity for local businesses and community partners to demonstrate their support for the region we all serve.
