ASO Musician Sponsorships

When you sponsor an Annapolis Symphony Orchestra musician, you become an essential part of sustaining the performing arts in our community. Your support ensures that the ASO continues to attract and retain exceptional, professional musicians who bring passion, artistry, and excellence to every performance. Your sponsorship is an investment in the long-term, artistic integrity of the orchestra.

Around 70 professional musicians fill our stage for ASO Signature Series and Pops concerts. Most of these musicians are tenured, which means their work with us helps ensure employment security to ASO artists. In total, ASO musicians perform nearly 70 concerts and community events each year;  their collective impact reaches tens of thousands of people annually. Sponsorships are available for all tenured chairs.

The ASO is:

  • Bringing Music to the Community

More than 10,000 people attend free ASO performances in outdoor venues, schools, museums,  medical centers, and senior living communities across the region every year. Our robust community engagement not only bring music to folks who may not otherwise be able to join us at a concert venue, but also offers additional opportunities for our musicians to perform beyond the stage.

  • Bringing Hope Through Healing

ASO musicians perform over 20 concerts each season in hospitals, behavioral health centers, and assisted living facilities, providing comfort, inspiration, care, and joy through live music.

  • Bringing Music to Kids

Nearly 3,000 students experience the magic of live performance annually, with 1 in 4 coming from Title I schools. We also partner with the Banneker-Douglass Museum, Salvation Army, and Marshall Hope Learning Center to reach under-resourced neighborhoods.

  • Bringing Up the Next Generation

Many of our musicians serve as teaching artists with the Annapolis Symphony Academy, which has provided over 6,500 lessons to 400+ students since 2018 and is still growing!

Your fully tax-deductible gift directly supports the compensation, stability, and professional excellence of the position you choose to sponsor.

Associate Principal Musician – $5,000

Over the years, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra has proudly and steadily increased its investment in our musicians — through annual raises, increased numbers of tenure positions, and, most recently, a new mileage reimbursement policy included in our latest collective bargaining agreement. You can learn more about the new agreement here

And while our investment in our musicians have been steadily increasing,  we have kept our musician sponsorship levels unchanged for many years. To that end, this season, we invite sponsors to consider adding an optional $500 to their sponsorship to help reflect these ongoing commitments. Your additional support directly honors the skill, time, training, and professionalism our musicians bring to the stage — and helps ensure our ability to continue to retain and attract the very best talent.

Thank you for sustaining this vital relationship between sponsor and musician — and for standing with us as we continue to invest in the people who make the music possible.
