Learn more about Forces of Nature, the second concert in our Season 65 Signature Series. In this special per-concert lecture, we’ll learn first hand from Reinaldo Moya and Luke Soneral about what inspired their compositions. We’ll hear from WBJC Program Director Jonathan Palevsky about what life circumstances or social movements motivated the compositional technique of musical icons Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Igor Stravinsky.  Understanding the music will help ticket holders enjoy and appreciate the music even more.

Tap into the experience and expertise of Jonathan Palevsky, Program Director at WBJC Classical Radio, who hosts our Season 65 pre-concert lectures. Jonathon dives deep into each piece in the concert repertoire, discussing history, culture, art, science, music trends, arcane facts and interesting anecdotes you won’t learn anywhere else.

The lectures provide useful insight into the composers and the music itself, which will elevate the concert experience for every patron. Join fellow music lovers for this free event before each Signature Series concert at Maryland Hall. Please note that Jonathan’s pre concert lectures are hosted only prior to Signature Series concerts at Maryland Hall.

Ticket holders can attend the pre-concert lecture in the Maryland Hall Main Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Reservations are not required and the event is free for ticketholders; however, tickets to the concert must be scanned for entry. Seating is open. Please note that while seating for the lecture is general admission, seating for the concert is ticketed.
